Afghanistan is a totally landlocked country slightly larger than France, with an extremely rugged topography. It borders Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, China and Pakistan, and is strategically important to all. Though firmly Islamic, the new government advocates a quite different interpretation of Islamic law, allowing women to work, men to shave and both to dance to music - simple pleasures that have earned the support of various tribes, more details to come ……..
