Early in the 20th
Century, Henry Ford discovered the efficiency of
the assembly line. The Ford Motor Company was
able to manufacture a Model T every 17 minutes.
As a result, the price of a car was lower than a
motorcycle in those days.
Just as the assembly line made the automobile
affordable for most Americans, we believe that
offering the low cost of international travel is
the key to encourage mission minded Christians
going overseas as a movement and preach the
Gospel to the nations.
Our innovative strategy has turned this ideal
situation into a reality:
1. Team participants offer their skills,
knowledge, and effort to insure the success of
the mission, and we provide financial assistance.
Through our program's financial contributions, we
are able to keep costs very low for all
participants, regardless of the project
locations. It is only a fraction (about 30%) of
the average mission organization's budget for
similar durations of outreach programs.
2. OSM will be responsible for contributing to
the operations by receiving donations from
individuals and businesses. We trust God's
provision to fulfill our needs through prayers.
God is faithful and His mercies toward those who
follow Him will never change. Thousands of years
ago, He met the needs of Moses and two million
Israelis in the desert, even to the point of
parting the Red Sea! Today, we trust the same God
to met the needs of this ministry.
3. We are partnering with overseas churches to
co-sponsor our summer projects. The national
churches will perform the following functions:

Recruit
students and charge a small fee to assist
with the cost of projects. |

Open
church facilities for classes and provide
necessary resources. Make dorms and the
houses of church members available for accommodations. |
Through God's
leading, the brothers and sisters in Christ
contribute their responsibilities
and help bring the Gospel to the far corners of
the earth.
General
Information of mission costs
A team member
should self-support or raise funds as the amount
required for the country or location you have
accepted. These basic funds will be merged into
the general funds provided by Overseas Summer
Missions, and through the coordination with the
sponsoring churches, we are able to cover the
international round trip airfare, field
transportation, room and board, teaching
materials and other miscellaneous costs.
